Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Prepare the surface — Works on concrete, paving slabs, decking, compacted gravel, or existing tarmac. Surface must be reasonably level and firm. Sweep clean.
  2. Dry-lay to plan — Arrange tiles without connecting to plan coverage and mark any cuts before committing.
  3. Lay and interlock — Tiles butt together edge-to-edge. At 19kg each, they hold in place without any fixings, adhesive or pegs.
  4. Cut to fit — Use a sharp utility knife along the rubber base to cut any perimeter tiles to size. The turf surface trims cleanly with scissors or a knife.
  5. Done — Walk on immediately. No curing, no setting time, no mess.

Where These Tiles Are Used

  • Garden Patios & Entertaining Areas — Transform a concrete or paved area into a lush green space in under an hour
  • Children's Play Areas — Soft rubber base cushions falls; green surface creates an inviting, natural-feeling play zone
  • Balconies & Roof Terraces — Instant green outlook, sound insulation for downstairs neighbours, and weight holds against wind
  • Schools & Nurseries — Safe, attractive outdoor learning spaces that look great and are easy to maintain
  • Dog Runs & Pet Areas — Tough rubber base withstands claws; turf surface is easy to hose clean
  • Gyms & Outdoor Fitness Spaces — Cushioned surface ideal for outdoor training areas, yoga zones and boot camp spaces

Coverage Calculator

  • Each tile covers exactly 1.0 m² (1000mm × 1000mm)
  • Formula: Area in m² = number of tiles needed

Example: A 4m × 3m patio = 12 m² = 12 tiles. We recommend ordering 1–2 extra for cuts.

Maintenance — There Isn't Any

Unlike natural grass, these tiles never need mowing, watering, feeding, or reseeding. The artificial turf surface resists fading thanks to UV stabilisation, and the rubber base won't rot, warp or degrade. To clean: brush off debris with a stiff broom or rinse with a garden hose. That's it.

Important Usage Notes

  • Designed for light to moderate domestic outdoor use — patios, balconies, garden play areas, terraces
  • Prolonged exposure to intense direct sunlight over many years may cause minor corner lifting due to the different thermal expansion rates of rubber and artificial turf — this is normal behaviour and can be corrected by repositioning the tile
  • For permanent large-scale commercial installations in full sun, contact us to discuss specification options
  • Tiles are heavy (19kg each) — plan delivery access accordingly

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do these tiles need adhesive or fixings?
A: No. At 19kg per tile, they hold in place under their own weight on any firm surface. No adhesive, pegs, or fixings required.

Q: Can these be used on a balcony?
A: Yes — these are specifically designed for balconies and roof terraces. The grooved rubber base allows drainage and the weight holds them securely without fixings.

Q: How many tiles do I need?
A: Each tile covers 1.0 m² exactly. Measure your area in m² and that's your tile count. Add 1–2 for edge cuts.

Q: Can I cut the tiles to fit odd shapes?
A: Yes — cut the rubber base cleanly with a sharp utility knife, and trim the turf surface with scissors or a knife. Both materials cut easily.

Q: Are these safe for children to play on?
A: The 15mm rubber base provides a cushioned surface that absorbs impact, making them a safer option than hard paving for children's play areas.

Q: How do I clean them?
A: Brush off leaves and debris with a stiff broom. Rinse with a garden hose for muddy areas or pet mess. No specialist cleaning products needed.

Q: Will the grass colour fade?
A: The artificial turf is UV-stabilised to resist fading under normal UK conditions. Some very gradual colour change may occur after several years of intense sun exposure.

Q: Can I use these indoors?
A: Yes — they work well as an indoor surface for playrooms, conservatories, gyms, and commercial spaces where a grass aesthetic is desired.
