Are your playground tiles certified to EN1177?
Yes. All our rubber playground tiles are independently tested and certified to EN1177 — the British and European standard for impact-attenuating playground surfacing. Each product page displays the Critical Fall Height (CFH) rating so you can match the tile to your equipment.
What is Critical Fall Height (CFH)?
Critical Fall Height is the maximum height from which a child can fall onto the surface and be protected from a life-threatening head injury. For example, a tile rated to 1.5m CFH is suitable under equipment with a maximum fall height of 1.5m. Always match your tile's CFH to the highest accessible point of your play equipment.
What thickness of tile do I need?
As a guide:
- 25mm — suitable up to 1.0m fall height (swings, small climbers)
- 40mm — suitable up to 1.5m fall height (standard play equipment)
- 50mm — suitable up to 2.0m fall height (larger structures)
- 65mm+ — suitable up to 3.0m fall height (high-level equipment)

Are the tiles suitable for wheelchair users?
Yes. Our rubber playground tiles provide a firm, stable, slip-resistant surface that meets the requirements for inclusive play areas and wheelchair access. They comply with DDA/Equality Act accessibility standards.
Are the tiles safe for children?
Absolutely. Our tiles are manufactured from recycled rubber and are non-toxic, free from hazardous substances, and safe for children. They meet all relevant EU and UK safety directives for playground equipment and surfacing.
What colours are available?
We stock tiles in a range of colours including black, red, green, blue, yellow, and more. Multi-colour designs can create vibrant play environments. Check individual product pages for current colour availability, or contact us for bespoke options.
Installation
Can I install the tiles myself?
Yes — our tiles are designed for straightforward DIY installation. They can be laid on grass, compacted hardcore, concrete, tarmac, or timber decking. Most installations are completed without specialist tools. We provide full installation guidance with every order.
Do the tiles need to be glued down?
For permanent installations and safety-critical applications, we recommend bonding tiles to a solid sub-base using a suitable rubber adhesive. For temporary or low-risk areas, tiles can be dry-laid. Edging strips help to secure perimeter tiles and give a neat finish.
What sub-base do I need?
Tiles can be installed over:
- Existing concrete or tarmac (ideal — minimal preparation needed)
- Compacted MOT Type 1 hardcore (minimum 100mm depth)
- Grass (suitable for non-permanent low-risk installations)
- Timber decking (ensure structurally sound)
How do I cut the tiles to fit?
Tiles can be cut with a sharp utility knife (Stanley knife) and a straight edge. For thicker tiles (50mm+), a jigsaw with a coarse blade gives cleaner results. No specialist equipment is required.
Can tiles be used indoors?
Yes. Our rubber tiles are equally suitable for indoor use — gyms, sports halls, nursery floors, and indoor play areas. They provide excellent sound absorption and comfort underfoot.
Ordering & Delivery
How do I calculate how many tiles I need?
Measure your area in metres squared (length x width). Our standard tile is 500mm x 500mm (0.25m²), so divide your total area by 0.25 to get the number of tiles required. We recommend adding 5–10% for cutting waste. Our team can also calculate quantities for you — get in touch.
Do you offer free delivery?
Yes — we offer free UK mainland delivery on all orders. Delivery timescales and any surcharges for remote areas (Scottish Highlands, islands, Northern Ireland) are detailed on our Delivery Policy page.
How long does delivery take?
Standard delivery is typically 3–5 working days. Express delivery options may be available — contact us for urgent requirements. Large pallet orders may take slightly longer and will be delivered kerbside.
Can I order samples?
Yes. We offer sample tiles so you can check colour, texture, and thickness before committing to a full order. Contact our team to request samples.
Do you supply trade and contractors?

Can I get a quote for a large project?
For projects over 50m², schools, councils, or commercial installations, contact us with your dimensions and requirements and we'll provide a bespoke quote with our best pricing.
Returns & Aftercare
What if my tiles arrive damaged?
In the unlikely event of damage in transit, please photograph the damage before unpacking fully, and contact us within 48 hours. We'll arrange a replacement or refund promptly. See our Returns Policy for full details.
How do I clean the tiles?
Rubber tiles are extremely easy to maintain. Brush off loose debris regularly and wash with warm water and a mild detergent as needed. They are weather-resistant, UV-stable, and frost-proof — no special treatments required.
How long do the tiles last?
With normal use our rubber playground tiles are built to last many years. Rubber is inherently durable, weather-resistant, and UV-stable. Commercial installations typically last 10–15+ years with proper maintenance.
Can I return tiles I no longer need?
Yes, subject to our returns policy. Unused tiles in original condition can be returned within 14 days. Please contact us before returning any goods. See our Returns Policy for full details.
