Step-by-Step Installation Guide
- Prepare the sub-base — Excavate to 100–150mm depth. Install compacted MOT Type 1 or crushed stone sub-base (minimum 100mm). For grass fill, finish with 50mm of topsoil. For gravel fill, bring stone to 20mm below surface level.
- Lay a geotextile membrane (recommended) — A weed-suppressing membrane beneath the mesh prevents weed growth and keeps gravel or soil in place. Overlap joins by 300mm.
- Roll out and click together — Connect panels using the interlocking edges. No tools or fixings needed. Work row by row across the area.
- Secure the perimeter — Use U-pins, timber edging or kerbing to hold the outer edge and prevent shifting under traffic.
- Fill the cells — For grass: fill with topsoil, level, and seed or turf. For gravel: fill with 10–20mm aggregate just below the top of the grid.
- Allow establishment (grass fill) — Keep off for 4–6 weeks while grass establishes. Gravel fill can be used immediately.

INSTALLATION
Ground stabilising mesh in 3mm or 4mm profiles is suitable for driveways, permeable hardstanding, and pedestrian areas. Lay onto a compacted, level sub-base (minimum 100mm Type 1 for vehicles). Roll out and cut to shape. Secure with U-pins at 500mm intervals. Butt adjacent rolls tightly. Fill cells with gravel, sharp sand, or topsoil and seed depending on intended use. For gravel driveways, fill cells with 10mm clean gravel and compact lightly.
MAINTENANCE
Top up gravel or sand fill annually if settlement occurs. Re-pin any lifted edges after winter. For seeded areas, maintain grass and top-dress bare patches.
